Purpose of This Meeting

This session will focus on Part 4 of Strongmen, examining how authoritarian leaders lose power and the role of resistance movements in their downfall. The discussion will explore historical patterns, the weaknesses that lead to the collapse of strongmen, and how these lessons apply to contemporary struggles against authoritarianism.

Objectives of This Meeting

  • Analyze the internal and external forces that contribute to the downfall of authoritarian leaders.

  • Examine historical and contemporary resistance movements.

  • Discuss how opposition to strongmen is organized and what factors lead to success or failure.

  • Reflect on how these lessons can inform present-day antifascist efforts.
